Why we love the Dream On Me Pack N Play Mattress

Hi again! Sometimes I like something enough that I feel sharing a few tidbits about my experience with it will benefit people in similar situations. This is one of those times. Here’s my review on this pack n play mattress that seemingly has magical powers over our nap-resisting son. [This post contains affiliate links.]    When John started sleeping over at his grandparents’ place, they got a Graco Pack N Play. We had one already that we’d loved since he was first born but weren’t ready to part … Continue reading

My first night with Fitbit Flex

I hope you all had a merry Christmas! One of the great gifts I received was the Fitbit Flex that I’ve wanted since first seeing it last summer. I love tracking my steps and distance covered (calories burned I care less about since I’m pregnant), but I was also excited to track my sleep habits. It’s very lightweight and can be worn to bed comfortably (as well as in the shower without being destroyed, so that’s neat). You can sync it with your desktop device … Continue reading

Boxer Puppy Gradually Falls Asleep

Our boxer puppy, that is. Junior is just over nine weeks.  It’s a bratty age — going outside is becoming more fun and less a hiccup-inducing chore for him.  Only problem is the weather has been freezing/melting/freezing/melting so the ground is muddy and there is still ice to slip on.  Also, there are dried up bean pods everywhere in our yard thanks to the tree next door.  He loves batting at them with his paws and biting them.  Come on, boy!  It’s cold out, just … Continue reading

700 Posts! Whew, I’m Tired. Need Ostrich Pillow.

If you find yourself zonked at the most inopportune times, the Ostrich pillow might be right up your alley.  Yes, this pillow has ear and breathing holes and of course, a giant hole for you to stick your entire head into. If anyone buys this for me for my birthday, I will love them forever, even if I hate them/don’t even know them now.  That’s a pretty powerful proposition.  I say you wrap your head around it.  Or let it wrap… eh, too easy. Ostrich … Continue reading

I Can’t Wake Up! Alarm Clock for Android

Waking up is a huge problem for me.  There have been mornings where I have hit snooze in excess of 20 times before finally uttering a swear word, stretching, and forcing myself to get up.  I am the kind of person who wakes up hours after they intended to, unless there is some motivation for me to get up. The app I am about to describe eliminates that.  As a result, I kind of hate it, but only because I love it so very much. … Continue reading

Morning (Absence of) Glory

Okay so I have not spent the morning picking up sticks and weird long bean strings from the back yard as I had hoped to, and do you know why?  I am addicted to sleep.  Or maybe just the compensation of sleep that seems to come in the mornings as a result of tossing and turning at night.  I miss my cheap bed.  This new plushy one with all the fixins just isn’t doing it for me.  I’m not as stiff as I was before, … Continue reading

Before I Forget

I had a weird dream last night.  Miklos, his brother and I were in a fishing town and we stopped for something to eat.  When we were coming out of the place, which was old and small-town ‘fish n chips’-like, some guy followed us out and I think it was Rob Delaney.  He said we should go see the new Pink Panther movie because it has almost all the guys from Kids in the Hall in it.  We said we knew that (?!) and we … Continue reading

Oh hello.

Chrome keeps freezing. Are you cold, little one? I love you… you’re normally so quick and clean and refreshing. *Wraps a blanket around you.* Is that better? Will you start scrolling again soon? Is it that I haven’t updated you in a while? Do you feel out of style? Are you angry at me because I’ve been working doubles and I haven’t been warming you up with my ever-overheating laptop? I am so dedicated to you, Chromey. Don’t let me down. You’ve always made me … Continue reading

I don’t play baby games.

An empty Tim Hortons cup sits on my desk, to the left of my computer and to the Southeast of my phone. This is a cue for me to make a tea. I enjoy a good Earl Grey tea these days. I also enjoy ‘paying back’ my sleep debt. One day Miklos is going to pay back his sleep debt too, but his case will be much more Van Winkle than mine (minus all the tragedy). When he awakes, there will be mugs and mugs … Continue reading

Electric Feel

Why do I not like sleep at night, but I love it so come morning? I’m tired as all shit, but I just won’t go down. Why don’t I think this much during the daytime? It certainly would help a lot of things. This is a good’un (I didn’t pay attention to the video, I’ll be honest). It was track #11 on ‘Economics is a Drag’ Mix ’08 as compiled by Ellie. That girl was fun. Share the post “Electric Feel” FacebookTwitterGoogle+PinterestStumbleUponE-mail
