I start to feel old when the hydro company sends me an information packet complete with off-peak times graphed onto stickers and I wish they instead sent me magnets. The dog has a habit of scrambling up in a clamour when I move my foot or even when we look a different way than we have been.  She also has a habit of being right at your feet when you haven’t been paying enough attention to notice her creeping up. She’s like a fluffy and more … Continue reading

Early Morning Bluez

This is easily the earliest I have been up in a very long time.  My nightmare job actually gives me bad dreams now.  That’s always welcome! So I woke up and put some Advantage on the dog, some of which I hope got on her actual skin, seeing as she has like 8 layers of thick short fur in the way of it.  Yep, being some form of an adult is pretty eventful.  I may even buy a humidifier filter one day soon.  Oh, the … Continue reading

The Dog & I

The dog is an itch-bag and so today I’m feeding her a tiny bit of garlic in her food to eliminate any chance of fleas. It’s no problem for me, as I can only smell anything half of the time, but apparently she smells.  Brewer’s yeast is effective as well, and won’t kill Mixi if she ingests some of Casey’s food as she tends to do, so that’s next to add to my Cupboard Full of Old People Crap. Christmas Woof

I guess it has to do with my esteemed way of making a living, but I seem to be a bit Christmas-focused far too early this year.  It’s not just me.  So does this thing: By the way, this dog is a maniac.   Share the post “Christmas Woof” FacebookTwitterGoogle+PinterestStumbleUponE-mail

Rest in Peace, Brodie

Nearly 13 years ago, my Nana got this adorable little Golden Retriever puppy named Brodie.  She grew up to be big, beautiful and fluffy, and like many dogs, she had her character quirks.  She was always a sweet and wonderful dog.  My aunts and I were talking just a week ago about what a smart dog she was, nosing her way out of her crate even when it was locked.  She had the girth of an ottoman and she burped sometimes.  I liked that about … Continue reading

Ranting aside, it’s a nice day for Halloween.  Not raining, not snowing, just a slight chill to the air, and I’m wearing some orange and a pair of Halloween socks.  I think the orange and black spirit would love me today.  Wish us luck with Casey and Rico not flying out the door tonight when the kids come to gather their treats. “Pay money for me. I am so innocent and would never destroy your home.” A while back, we got a dog.  My family had several dogs when I was growing up, and I guess I must have been spoiled because they were the best dogs in the universe.  Our dog now is adorable, funny, sweet — you can’t help but feel like a total a-hole for no reason when you look into her sad little brown eyes.  She is also the most destructive dog I … Continue reading
