Funny: SNL’s Wes Anderson Parody Movie Trailer — The Midnight Coterie of Sinister Intruders

UPDATE: This video is nearly impossible to find available for Canadian audiences. The source I had used before, as you can see, has deleted the video. Boo. If you find a link, be sure to leave it in the comments. Easily the best sketch to come out of Saturday Night Live this weekend. Ed Norton does a pretty decent Owen Wilson. Experian, TransUnion & Equifax probably won’t fix your credit report without a lawsuit. Cool right?

Watch this eye-opening special from 60 Minutes about how the people you speak to or write to at Equifax, TransUnion and Experian have no authority to change any error on your credit report. Ignore the annoying commercial breaks. It’s worth it. 40 Million Mistakes: Is your credit report accurate? — 60 Minutes How is this legal? Well, it isn’t. That’s why lawsuits are being filed to correct even the most obvious of credit errors. We’ve had a couple of personal experiences with something like this, … Continue reading

Whew. Homeland returns to Showtime on September 29, 2013.

With Dexter nearing its end and Breaking Bad‘s final episodes beginning last Sunday, some of us are already panicking about which show we’ll have left to obsess over when they’re done. (I am opposed to the zombie fad, so I haven’t watched The Walking Dead, though my dad has told me I have to.) Thankfully, we have a backup plan, at least for now. Miklos and I started watching Homeland two seasons ago, and it’s scheduled to begin again on September 29th on Showtime. Never … Continue reading

How Did You Find Me? Popular Posts on Commatose

One thing I find interesting about this blog, because it is comprised of so many different topics, is the popularity of some of the posts. You would not believe how many people get here searching Google for the Masked Magician. And I don’t even have any inside scoop on the guy. Is he even alive anymore? Who knows! (Wikipedia, probably.) Aside from Google, the power of Pinterest is strong. If you put up a cute article about the crappy DIY cat hammock you made and … Continue reading

Up All Night is (Probably) Done

A week ago, I realized we hadn’t watched Up All Night since (I think) January, which could be seen in either a good or a bad light, given my thoughts on the current season. (Summary: Mostly good cast, but premise has strayed quite a bit from its original intent, which might be fine if not for the show’s name.) After some research, I came up with why it’s been gone a while, though not officially cancelled (yet). While Up All Night wasn’t the greatest show … Continue reading

Whose Line is it Anyway? Maybe we’ll find out now.

Whose Line…? is coming back! Thank Curtis for this update, but thank me more because I mentioned to Curtis that I hate the show Let’s Make a Deal, in which stars Wayne Brady. Don’t believe me? Here’s a link. You can’t argue with that, can you? And here is a sample of what I miss about the show and what I hope will come back. If you have 10 minutes to spare, I mean. Bend a car? Pat Benatar! Are you looking forward to Whose Line … Continue reading

Judith Light Has Had Brighter Prospects

Judith Light on Dallas is maybe the worst casting choice in a television show in recent memory. If the fact that she plays the mother of Harris Ryland (who appears to be about five years her junior) doesn’t speak to that, the first minute of the video below will demonstrate why. That’s not to say I didn’t die laughing when I saw this. Err, Angeler, uh… Share the post “Judith Light Has Had Brighter Prospects” FacebookTwitterGoogle+PinterestStumbleUponE-mail

Val Valentino Strikes Again – Masked Magician Fail

One of the most common ways people get to my site is to search “Val Valentino” or “masked magician” on Google, almost certainly because I once wrote this. In the past couple of days, the popular search term has been “val valentino fail”.  Well, to your delight and to my confusion (what was actually supposed to happen here, magicians?!), here it is. I’m not a fan of showcasing failures, but (1) I give the people what they want to some degree, and (2) I’ve always … Continue reading

Movie Review: Skyfall

Skyfall was good.  I won’t spoil anything, but I will describe the theatre experience because I find these reviews more interesting (I am the only one who reviews movies this way as far as I know). The movie was packed with older people and a few confused tweens, far less than I had predicted.  It was as if the matinee had been moved to 6:45 PM.  I used the washroom but felt compelled to go again once crammed into the packed theatre with its lack … Continue reading
