Wood-look phone cases for your Samsung Galaxy or iPhone

Forest art case for Samsung Galaxy S6

Just a quick post to show off my favourite phone case yet. It’s from RealDesignRocks, an Etsy seller who makes it difficult to decide on just one design to wrap around your phone, be it a Samsung Galaxy or an iPhone. (I wrote this because I sincerely love this case & many, many of her other ones & I appreciate a good value. I am not being paid to write this or given free merchandise — though that’d be cool with me! Haha.) The cut-outs … Continue reading

Follow me on Pinterest!

If you’ve visited this site a time or two, you may have noticed a veritable um… tapestry(?) of interests — but not a [complete] lack of focus! Like many people (you?), I have too many ideas and far too little time, especially now with my handmade shop up and running. This complete disarray becomes an organized bulletin board of dreams on my Pinterest. I’d love it if you’d follow me there! I promise it’s full of great ideas, many of which I’m positive you’d love, because I know you’re … Continue reading

3 and a half slick, sleek cases to fit the Samsung Galaxy S6

Remember this post? Well, someone I married arranged for a boatload of family to pitch in for me to get the Samsung Galaxy S6 for my birthday. It was released the very same day, so maybe that was a sign that it was meant to be. Yay! The camera alone, it turns out, is worth the upgrade. It’s fast and takes great, clear pictures, even in the dark. As a clumsy person, it’s fitting for me to share the coolest options for, uh… protection… if you’ve already … Continue reading

Why I still heart my Samsung Galaxy S4 in 2015

pink Fossil Bee S4 case

Samsung releases the Galaxy S6 on April 10, 2015, comprised of metal, glass, non-removable battery and no expandable memory — offering instead impressive internal storage with 32, 64 and 128GB models.   Its release date makes this my perfect birthday phone, or so you’d think. I’m just not sure. I may have been extremely fortunate that my Galaxy S4 has lasted through so, so many terrible things. This week, Johnny took his first steps (!!!!!!!) and then proceeded to drool all over my phone. I wiped it off … Continue reading

Review: Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker

Bluetooth speaker with thick bassy sound

Remember this pre-Christmas list? I was delighted to discover that Miklos had this wonderful little sound box I’d mentioned wrapped and under the tree for me! Best! I decided to give it its own review post because it really is one of my favourite things. If you love taking your music with you wherever you go (e.g. parties, outside while you garden, BBQ or work, down by the dock or campfire, or even just from room to room) you will love this speaker. [This post contains … Continue reading

If I don’t see you, Merry Christmas!

JOY to the WORLD

Well hello! I’m quiet lately, but it isn’t because I don’t like you very much. In fact, if you visit me, I like you a lot. Thank you for your website patronage. It has been a very busy year for our family. I am hoping to get back into the swing of things as my baby doesn’t need to hang off of me 24/7. That should be soon. I will be baby-gating all doorways and tethering him to a wall without electrical outlets and then … Continue reading

Holy crap! I’ve been mobilized!

Recently I’ve gotten a lot of mobile hits, be they from tablets, smartphones or … I don’t know what else is a mobile device these days — I’m an adult for goodness sake. (Mobile floating heads?) Tonight I mentioned offhand to Miklos that I needed to remedy the lack of mobile-friendliness sometime soon. Half my traffic (or more) comes from these devices, and I know how annoying it is to resize a page when you’re sitting on the toilet/bus. Miklos recently found a great theme … Continue reading

Snowed In / Cruisin’ for a Bruisin’

I know I promised productivity, but that’s proven tough this week since getting my second crappy cold in less than 2 months. I am very slowly getting my first sewing project done on our new machine, however. And Miklos painted what will become the nursery. So stuff is happening, gradually. Here’s a very good song with a theme many of us are familiar with tonight: Stay warm, and if you have pets outside, please bring them inside. This polar vortex is unforgiving. How are you … Continue reading

DIY: Homemade tablet case

Tablet cases can be anywhere from $15 (on a good day) to $50 (on a normal day). I prefer to spend as little money as possible, plus I’m on this “making thoughtful gifts” kick, so I decided to fashion a tablet case for someone. Below are some shots of what resulted! Here is some material I was considering using but then I didn’t. I just used the purple placemat beneath it. Reason? It already had interfacing, and it had a nice pattern on one side … Continue reading

2013 — The Year I Forgot About Flickr

Let’s summarize 2013 in one word: Hectic. For those of you who don’t have a year available to read this post but who have some opinion on Flickr, just skip to the last bolded sub-header. The rest of you, I apologize, for this is more of a journal entry than an entertaining post. Surprisingly, one of the shortest non-introductory blocks of text involves the most stressful aspects of the past year. Between unexpectedly taking on a (very energetic) new puppy, planning a wedding comprised mostly … Continue reading
