What I’m up to: 1 Hour Fabric Basket

Good 2016 to you! Thank you for stopping by!

Just wanted to make a quick update with what I’ve been up to lately!

Either I ran myself pretty hard through November and December, or being sick has done a number, (probably both) but I’ve been sleep-deprived since mid-December.

Anyway, pairing that with the usual winter grogginess and occasional toddler crankiness = I haven’t gotten much done.

But! I will be getting back to it as soon as this cold is over. Here’s what I wanted to show you.

Pretty fabric baskets!

I am kind of obsessed with home decor, so when I found a good tutorial on how to make fabric baskets I was excited. Even more exciting was that I had the materials I needed on-hand, with the exception of using iron-on interfacing instead of fusible fleece.

The printed fabric seen here is designed by Lime Palace. She makes some stinking cute prints!

The 1 hour basket tutorial — which takes significantly longer than 1 hour if you have a sleepless toddler or 2 big dogs who love attention or if you’re sick, but which is a very good tutorial nevertheless — is from Hearts and Bees.

These have many uses around the house for kids and adults alike. As a baby shower gift they make for great change station diaper storage (and would hold other baby items wonderfully I might add)!

If you’d rather buy it than make it I plan to have some of these in my Etsy shop very soon!

So what do you think? Leave a comment and let me know!

About Nikki

I've been writing since I was in kindergarten where I Crayola-markered an epic tale of a tiger and a balloon on a stack of lined papers folded into a booklet and stapled along the edge (carefully, and by my teacher). I love DIY, sewing, folksy music, animals and getting out to look at and listen to nature.
