Those Crazy Samoans, Always a Step Ahead!

The people of Samoa skipped Friday this week AND got paid for it.  I don’t mean that they skipped work, I mean that they actually fell asleep Thursday and woke up Saturday, and not due to influenza.   There was no Friday!  Because they do more business with Australia and New Zealand than the US, they decided to ‘move’ to the other side of the international date line in order to have two more full business days for their larger client base.  Business savvy!  And all this time I thought the Survivor crew were the only people living permanently on Samoa.  Just like everyone thinking we live in igloos I gather.

Because of their little switcheroo, they’re getting festive (if they do that there) long before we do and celebrating New Years Eve first instead of last this year.  I’ll drink to that!  Or just about anything, come tomorrow.  If you can’t nearly poison your body at least one night a year, what’s the point?

About Nikki

I've been writing since I was in kindergarten where I Crayola-markered an epic tale of a tiger and a balloon on a stack of lined papers folded into a booklet and stapled along the edge (carefully, and by my teacher). I love DIY, sewing, folksy music, animals and getting out to look at and listen to nature.
