"Finding happiness in failure": The opposite of "talking shit about a pretty sunset."

don't turn your back on me, moose!

Oh hi. If you’ve just found me now, well I sure am good at keeping secrets. Or, as it were, at eventually disclosing them.

Yet another thing I’m good at is failing miserably at interviewing for jobs. I also succeed at accepting the rejection calls the HR directors (or their lackeys) make to me shortly after. I’ve got to hand it to them; at least they’re prompt with their rejection. Which reminds me, I’ve got an interview tomorrow. And I’m learning things. You know, just a hint of rouching on a button-up dress shirt can be just enough to make ironing the rest of the thing quite the hassle.

I’m thinking of throwing in the towel. Un-ironed. I’ve got a time frame to work with here, and once I’m nearing the end without much to show for it (circa end of June), I think I may just quit. This clearly isn’t the path I was supposed to take, and, as unfortunately expensive as it’s been, it’s taught me what I don’t want to do with myself. I am far too opinionated and infused with a personality irritating to dull and drab people alike to wear dressy clothes and pretend I like them every day of my life. (The clothes? The people? Both!) Not that I’m doing that now. I just would be, had I already gotten a co-op placement.

Anyway, daytripping at Algonquin Park was refreshing! Saw two moose, did not get an acceptable photograph of either, despite the one pictured above being so picturesque in her little bog before she turned her tail and ran away. I love the north. Couldn’t live there, but I love it. You can’t get pictures like that down here, that’s for sure. That said, I should book off some up-north time soon. You know, from my part time job. The one I did get.

Moose!

About Nikki

I've been writing since I was in kindergarten where I Crayola-markered an epic tale of a tiger and a balloon on a stack of lined papers folded into a booklet and stapled along the edge (carefully, and by my teacher). I love DIY, sewing, folksy music, animals and getting out to look at and listen to nature.
